New Business – Tom Allen MTA no meeting for October due to ICC ABM, 2nd- Chris Richardson;
With a new website coming Joey brought forth a request to open a PayPal account to use with
the new website for collection of funds, instead of using Eventbrite. (MTA Jason Kipfinger – 2nd –
Christopher Richardson.
Open Discussion – Roy Eden brought up the Milestone Inspection report and the financial
reports associated with it. BOAF to have a meet up in Long Beach during the ICC ABM.
Committee Reports:
I. Education – Renata Minoga – September will be Dottie Mazzarella – Understanding and
Using Evaluation Service Reports. There won’t be a meeting in October due to the annual
conference. November will be David Marckle with Thermacrete.
II. Legislative – Tom Allen – Get involved as much as possible so our collective voices are heard
by those making the decisions. A new lobbyist was hired and it is establishing connections.
The Legislative day is March, 18th 2025. Residential apprenticeship and threshold program
being initiated.
III. Activities – Christopher Richardson – Golf Tournament on Friday, December 6th. Tom Allen
will provide breakfast for the golf tournament. Rick B. – Fun in the Sun with Guns on
November 16th at St. Cloud Range. Picnic date March 29th, 2025 at the Osceola Heritage Park
Expansion Building.
IV. Scholarship committee – Allen Johnson stated that we need to get the 2025 scholarship
updated and posted. High School Dual Enrollment Students can apply.
V. Nominating Committee – Tom Allen – Dave Spencer for – President; Mike Boso for – VP;
Steve McDaniel for – Sec/Tres; Randy Metz for – Section A; Ben Breadmore for – Director At
Large; Allison Cook for – Section E; Sam Palmer, Las Vegas – Director; Sean Toomey, Fire
Marshal NH State Fire Marshal – Director; JC Hudgison, Florida for Section F (Currently
appointed for this seat) (MTA Joey Rodriguez, Sr. 2nd – Christopher Richardson.)
VI. By-Laws Update – Ashley Ong – Updated bylaws voted on after being emailed in July. Will be
posted to new website. (MTA Tom Allen – 2nd Marcos Baez.)
VII. BOAF State Director Report—Tom Allen – Next meeting September 13th, 2024. Nothing to
report at this time.
VIII. Mutual Aid – Tom Allen – No updates.
IX. Region 9 – Next meeting at Annual ICC Conference October 20–23, 2024
X. ICC Update: Dottie Mazzarella and Kris Stenger encouraged everyone to attend the Annual
Conference. Code of Honor Scholarships available. The 30th Anniversary of ICC celebrations
will begin at the Conference. ICC will organize watch parties for chapters to be able to follow
the hearings.
XI. BCAIB Update – Next meeting October 3-4, 2024 in Ft. Lauderdale and the new process is in
effect. Candidates who received pre-approval do not need to attend the meeting. Discussion
about credits for Permit Technicians.
Florida Building Commission – Tom Allen – TAC meetings next month. Vote on the 2024 I-Code
updates. Currently, FBC is two cycles behind.
Code interpretation discussion – No update
